YAVAPAI COUNTY—In preparation for its 2014 competitive grants process, the Yavapai County Community Foundation invites representatives of local nonprofit organizations, public schools, municipalities and Tribal entities to participate in an upcoming workshop to help better prepare their funding applications. Topics to be discussed during these workshops will include application instructions, eligibility requirements, guidelines, and an introduction to the new online application process. YCCF staff and YCCF Advisory Board members will be on hand to answer questions.

Two workshops are scheduled. The workshop in Prescott is set for Tuesday, February 4, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arizona Community Room, 335 E. Aubrey Street in Prescott.  Another workshop in Cottonwood will take place Thursday, February 13, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Verde Valley Medical Center Conference Rooms B and C, 269 S. Candy Lane, in Cottonwood.

To register online, go to www.yavapaifoundation.org and choose News & Events in the left navigation bar. The workshops are free and open to the public, but space is limited. For more information, please contact Tracey McConnell at (928) 499-9795 ortmcconnell@azfoundation.org.

YCCF accepts funding requests from qualified nonprofit organizations, public schools, municipalities and Tribal entities in amounts ranging from $500 to $10,000. Grant applicants must provide services within Yavapai County geographic boundaries.

The 2014 competitive grant process begins on Thursday, February 27. Applications are due Thursday, March 27, by 4:00 p.m. The grant application will be available online beginning Thursday, February 4, at www.azfoundation.org/grants.

Last year, YCCF awarded nearly $200,000 to 46 Yavapai County community organizations through this competitive grant process. Grant funding may be awarded in interest areas including youth programs, social services, healthcare, eye care, music and art, the environment, and law enforcement canines.
