Terry Tafoya Earp has been writing plays since 1988, finding it much more satisfying than public administration and selling insurance. She had a major hit in 1990 with her lingerie-themed play Skimpies. Her most widely seen play is Wyatt Earp: A life on The Frontier written in 1996 and won an AriZoni Award, which is an equivalent of the Tony Award. Wyatt Earp: A Life on The Frontier; has had over 670 performances throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Wyatt, her husband, plays the staring role and is a great-nephew of the famous lawman of the same name.

Lark tells the story of her life as a cowboy woman raising a son, herding cattle and training horses and mules. She also relates the adventures as she and her husband Joe, cowboyed from Mexico to Alaska and all points in between. Finally, she gives her views on ranch life and how it has changed, and what she and her friends are doing to preserve their part of Western history.
