For the free, public Aviation History Program at Embry-Riddle, Colonel John Dale, USAF, (Retired) of Big Lake, Alaska, and a Tucson, Arizona, snowbird, presents a multi-media history of the previously classified Strategic Air Commands’ drone reconnaissance efforts in China, North Korea, and the Vietnam Conflict. This presentation incorporates all aspects of the program to include operational areas, mission capabilities, system performance, changes made to adapt to changing defensive capabilities, DC-130 carrier aircraft crew duties, and CH-3 mid-air drone recovery.  During Linebacker II, the final bombing of North Vietnam, Colonel Dale was in charge of all drone reconnaissance missions flown from U-Tapao AB, Thailand, to cover the bombing efforts.
