National Day of Prayer – Sun City West

5 May 2016

Located at: Advent Episcopal Church

Advent Episcopal Church in Sun City West announces a very unique event on May 5th

In an effort to counter the fear and hatred that has become so prevalent in the headlines and broadcasts today, Advent Episcopal Church is hosting a very INclusive event on May 5th.  The National Day of Prayer was designated the first Thursday in May in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress. Since its inception, this day has continually united Americans from all socio-economic, political, and ethnic backgrounds in prayer. In that light Advent Episcopal Church has invited speakers from different religious traditions to share their faith and pray for our country.  It is an all day event planned for people to come and go throughout the day.  There will be representatives of the Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist and Sikh faiths in addition to a Native American, Roman Catholic and other Christian denominations.

This is a public event and all are welcomed to come and learn and pray for the Nation.
