The Introduction to The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services course provides an overview of The Salvation Army and the Emergency Disaster Services program. Participants will learn about the mission, history, services, and structure of The Salvation Army and the opportunities for volunteer disaster workers.

The main elements of the course will;

o Introduce you to The Salvation Army
o Inform you on what is involved in Emergency Disaster Services (EDS)
o Introduce you to the fundamentals of the Incident Command System
o Provide useful information you need
 If you want to be deployed outside your local area
 To know about the emotional aspects of disaster service work
 To understand what is expected of you as an EDS volunteer
