Disaster Food Service: Handling and Delivery is part of The Salvation Army’s National Disaster Training Program. It was developed for all Salvation Army staff and volunteers to prepare them to work efficiently and effectively in food services. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an overview of The Salvation Army’s disaster food service program. Participants will learn the essentials of safe and sanitary food preparation and service.
Participants will also learn the fundamentals of operating a Salvation Army mobile kitchen or “canteen.” Topics covered include the following:

Unit 1: ServSafe®: Steps to Food Safety
Unit 2: Test Your Food Service Knowledge
Unit 3: Disaster Food Service
Unit 4: The Disaster Food Service Team
Unit 5: Disaster Food Service Equipment
