Climate Change Rally: Paris to Prescott
29 Nov 2015
3:00 pm-4:00 pm Located at: Yavapai County Courthouse, Gurley St side
On November 30, 195 nations worldwide will meet in Paris for the Conference of the Parties 21 to finalize a new climate agreement. The goal is to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius. To date, 160 nations and 6,652 institutions have pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions – enough to limit global warming to 2.7 degrees. This is tremendous progress but it is not enough.
On November 29, over 42 million citizens representing 194 countries worldwide are joined in a global movement – the largest climate march in history – to urge greater reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
The Sierra Club and the Yavapai Climate Change Coalition invite citizens to rally in support of the Paris conference on climate change, to learn what citizens can do locally, and to urge stronger government action. The rally begins at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 29, at the County Courthouse (north side) in Prescott. For more information, call 928-308-1003.
Organization: Yavapai Group Sierra Club
