Kids should be free to enjoy being kids
Kids, right here in our community, rely on school meals for daily food and so, without a consistent source of food, face uncertainty during the summer months.
Many of our elementary and middle school students in Northern Arizona rely on free or reduced meal plans in order to get food at school – and many of those students don’t get to eat at home because their families cannot afford food. Instead of enjoying their weekends and holidays, these kids know that when school ends, so do their meals. With inadequate nutrition, their school work suffers and their bodies lack the nutrition needed for them to grow properly and enjoy childhood.
Here’s how you and Arizona Shine can partner in “Feeding Northern Arizona Kids” this summer…
Non-perishable food items will be collected and distributed to Feeding Northern Arizona’s Future and Hungry Kids Project who will get them to children in need in our communities. Drop off non-perishable food items at Arizona Shine or any of the locations below:
